Freezin' for a Reason! - Cordova Recreation and Park District

In the spirit of the New Year, Cordova Recreation & Park District (CRPD) welcomed over 30 community members to the Cordova Community Pool for the Cordova Recreation & Parks Foundation’s (CRPF) Annual Polar Bear Plunge on January 14, 2023. And, what a blast it was! Despite the cold, everyone was in high spirits while they enjoyed the pool, breakfast and comradery in the brisk January air.

But this event wasn’t just fun and games, CRPF is pleased to announce that over $1,800 was raised in support of the Foundation’s Fee Assistance Program, as well as the Parent Boards for the Cordova Blue Marlins Swim Team and Cordova Cordettes Synchronized Swim Team.

“The funds raised will provide our Foundation the opportunity to support local residents, of all ages, to participate in a variety of CRPD recreational programs and activities that they wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford,” said CRPF President Kim Oliver. “Cordova Recreation & Park District has a lot to offer our community and together we see the importance of enriching the lives of our residents. We as a Foundation are growing and we are excited that our community of support is growing too.”

A very special congratulations to our top fundraiser, Morgan Smith, who raised over $170 in support of the Cordova Cordettes Synchronized Swim Team Parent Board!
