Ballet 1
Ages: 6 – 14
Wednesdays • 5 – 5:45 p.m.
Hagan Community Center

Dancers will learn turns, leaps and jumps as they develop personal artistry, while enhancing their physical coordination. Attire: black leotard, pink or flesh-tone footless tights, flesh-tone leather ballet slippers or bare feet, and/or white shirt, black shorts and black leather ballet shoes or bare feet. No tutus or skirts allowed.
*$36 prorated fee or Nov., Dec. and Feb. No class 11/22, 12/27 and 2/21.

Cooking Classes

Neil Orchard Senior Activities Center

A variety of culinary skills, as well as kitchen and food safety tips are incorporated into each class. Students will create a meal or entree to enjoy in class or share with friends and family. New menus introduced each session. Click on link to see specific program days.

My First Tennis Lesson

Ages: 4 – 6 • Heron Landing Community Park – Tennis Courts

During this 6-week program which includes one class per week, kids will participate in fun activities while learning the fundamentals of tennis in a safe and supportive environment. With this program the use of “right-sized” equipment (regarding, weight, length, speed, and size) allows young players to learn and play more effectively. Some parent participation required.

Learn to Play: Tennis

Ages: 7-12 • Heron Landing Community Park – Tennis Courts

Has your child ever wanted to try tennis, but has not had the opportunity due to financial restraints, unfamiliarity of the sport, or any other reason? If you said yes, then this is the perfect program for your child! This program provides students with the opportunity to try tennis in a safe, enriching, and supportive environment. This opportunity to play is granted funded by the Sacramento Junior Tennis Fund. A small commitment fee is required. Upon completion of the class students will be provided with their very own tennis equipment.

Youth Tennis for Intermediate Players

In the 6-week program, students will meet once weekly and learn the fundamentals of tennis. Players will learn basic tennis skills by understanding the important “ball-hit” principle and move to more advanced techniques. Students will gain a better understanding of tennis and the principles of the game.

Junior Tennis Clinics

Learn to Play tennis and have fun with your friends, with level 1 PTR (professional tennis registry) certified tennis Coach Garth! These classes are geared for tennis players who are brand new to tennis or who have intermediate skills. If you participated in My First Tennis Lesson or Learn to Play Tennis this is a great class to transition to. Tuesday classes are one-hour skill-based classes. Saturday classes are one-hour skill based and 1-hour match play, classes. Both classes are appropriate for beginners and intermediate players.

Pee Wee Soccer League

Get ready to ignite your child’s soccer passion with our dynamic Pee Wee Soccer league! This engaging and instructional 4 v. 4 soccer league spans six action-packed weeks. We’ll group our young players into small, close-knit teams led by dedicated volunteer coaches committed to imparting the core skills of the sport in a secure, enjoyable, and enriching setting. Each week, teams will embark on a one-hour practice session tailored to the volunteer coach’s schedule (Monday-Friday). The real excitement unfolds on Saturdays when these emerging soccer stars take to the field for exhilarating games.

Track & Field Club

Get ready to join us for an exhilarating new Pee Wee Track and Field club! In this dynamic instructional club, participants gather once a week for practice and look forward to two exciting meets throughout the season. Our Track and Field events encompass many thrilling events, including running, hurdles, baton relay races, discus, javelin, and shot put. The action is brought to life by our dedicated volunteer coaches, who help organize the meets and guide participants in mastering the fundamentals of each event within a safe, fun, and enriching environment.

Jr. NBA Youth Basketball League

They run, shoot, and they score! In partnership with the Jr. NBA, we are offering our Jr. NBA Coed Youth Basketball league. This program includes one or two practices per week and six league games, dependent on the season and gym availability. Each team requires two volunteer coaches and/or team helpers. NFL Youth Flag Football League

Ages: 5-14
Our Coed and New Girls NFL Youth Flag Football League is ready for a touchdown, and we’re eager to get more girls involved! This league not only imparts the fundamentals of football but also instills values of good sportsmanship and teamwork. Every participant, including girls, will receive an NFL Flag jersey, shorts, and a certificate of participation. The season features a player evaluation day and six to eight league games, depending on the season. Each team seeks two dedicated volunteer coaches or helpers, with practice schedules tailored to the coach’s availability, consisting of two weekly practices. Interested in coaching? Girls Youth Volleyball League

Our league builds essential skills like passing, setting, serving and spiking. Each team enjoys one practice session per week, and an 8-game guarantee during the season. Practice schedule (day/time) is dependent on volunteer coach and gym access.

Summer 8-Game League
